Embassy Review : The process itself went very well... the only real problem I had was with the guard outside. He wouldn't let me into me into my own embassy even though I was holding up my US Passport right in front of his face. That's the last time I speak to any hired guards in Spanish, he thought I was waiting for a tourist visa even though I kept telling him I'm American... fortunately there was another couple behind us and a manager came out and asked us what was going on and we were let in. It definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. Other than that, it was just like being in a DMV, typical US government office. It was freezing cold inside (like below 65) and I had wished I had brought a jacket. We waited a long time for our interview, we found out that a ton of us were all scheduled at the exact same time and they just took us one at a time. By the time we got into the interview, we had been there 2+ hrs. We had the German lady. She was a great interviewer, she asked if we wanted to speak in English which me and my fiance were fine with and didn't even look at the 20+ pics we brought with us. I'm assuming as I've read previously that they make up their minds beforehand... at least that's how I felt. We were approved rather quickly, and after getting a special note signed by the consul (I've blocked the circumstances out of my mind, I was so cold/nervous) for our specific case, we were done and we called his parents. All in all an ok experience, but who can really prepare you for the nerves of being at the embassy and having your whole future right in front of you, depending on a few minutes with a random stranger? Thank goodness I never have to do that again. Best wishes to those of you in the midst of it... it really does get better, hang in there!
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
