Our interview was a breeze. I did fly down to attend with my fiance. I don't know how much it helped, but the consul seemed happy that I was there. Our appt was set for 7:30. We got there at 7:00, waited for about an hour then they called us back to collect all of our documents. They sent us back to the waiting room, and about 45 minutes later we were called back for interview. The interview is conducted at a window with the consul. Our interviewer was very cordial and only asked about 3 simple and straightforward questions. He asked me about my previous divorce. He asked my fiance about whether she knew that we were going to be engaged when she filed for her tourist visa last year. He asked where I worked and where she worked. He never asked to see any proof of relationship, pictures, boarding passes, etc. I had a whole briefcase full of documents and he never asked. Her visa arrived in less than one week!
I pray that your experience goes just as smoothly. Even though we had such an easy time, I do recommend being prepared as possible for the interview. Don't take anything for granted! |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
