Immigration in Atlanta was very courteous. They explained their procedure and chatted with Hassan in a friendly manner. With him coming from a muslim country I was very happy about that. It gave him a good first impression of the United States and its citizens. |

we had an original appointment date of august 24, 2005 however when we arrived for our interview we were told our file had not arrived and they would reschedule. Then they sent our next noa to a wrong address, their mistake, finally we had our interview feb 2006, no problem, nice officer only asked for info with both of our names on it and asked Hassan the names of my kids and how long we knew each other before marrying...then given 10 year green card. We got the stamp there and the actual card in the mail about a week later. Now we are looking at citizenship. We will be eligible to apply in November 2008. |

After waiting 4 months without a word on his EAD we went to Atlanta to check on it. They gave him another EAD form he filled it out and was given his EAD in Atlanta. They did the finger print and photo. |

interview appointment was at 8:25am. He was called back at 9:30am. The interviewer did not ask for anything that was requested in the letter. He only asked him 6 questions and had him write a sentence. Marked his paper as approved and told us to to return at 2:00pm for the Oath Ceremony.
The ceremony was short and sweet and all the immigration folks were very nice and congratulating everyone as we left the building. A total of 128 people were taking their oath today.
Atlanta immigration employees have been the best from start to finish. |

Hassan was called in at the time of his interview. He was interviewed by an American and the interview was done in English. He asked him alot of questions about us and how we met and then told him everything was fine. They kept his passport and called him back 2 weeks later to pick it up with his visa.

It was a very good interview. The officer asked us some questions and then asked Hassan some questions and gave us approval and stamped his passport. In all it took maybe 30 minutes. The greencard came soon afterwards.
Atlanta has been good to us. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
