I Was very nervous in the morning, the raining weather didn't help either. I almost felt like I wanted to throw up.
We Lined up in front of the consulate at 13:10, waited 25-30 minutes before we were allowed to check in. Security guys were very nice. Good impression so far.
Then we were called at window 5 immediately, we submitted all documents to a very nice young woman, talking to her was very delightful and joyful. I find it quite impossible/ couldn't believe it really.
One by one we needed to submit my passport, 2 photos and birth certificate, my fiancé financial support documents, she asked if I had married before, and then it's the foreign police certificate, the postage + return envelop 7,50 euro, and finally the proof of visa payment 192 euros.
She was so patient, we prepared way too much evidence that at one point we kinda got lost in our paperwork, she always waited with a smile and said if we didn't make copies it'd be fine, cos she can make copies for us.
After she took my finger prints we sat back down, this time for about 20 minutes. There is a TV in the room so we kinda just watched the hurricane news,a few couples who came after us were called back before us, we felt a little weird but no big deal.
Finally a nice middle aged man interviewed us, first I took an oath, he asked me to say my name, birthday, and the he said, oh! I approved your last tourist visa! I was like oh really? I thought he looks different than I remembered, hehe. Then he said, your travel visa is still valid for another day, you can't have 2 visas at the same time! I was like, no.... Then he asked my fiancé if he lives in Amsterdam, how long we been together, and when is the wedding. Basically that's it. He said give me our old passport( where the tourist visa is on) he cancelled my tourist visa which is only valid for 1 more day, then he said ok you are approved!! Then he said a bunch of things such as filing for AOS, not traveling outside the US before I have authorization or the green card, etc. then he let us go!
On our way back, the security guys greeted us again, how nice!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
