Port of Entry Review
Event Date
Port of Entry : Miami
POE Date : 2005-10-01
Got EAD Stamp : No
Biometrics Taken : No
Harassment Level : 0
Comments : I totally forgot to ask about the EAD, and in spite of all the stories I had heard about Miami as a POE, my experience was completely sweet. The officer that I got at the line was nice and explained that I only needed the bottom part of the I-94 and that I had to hold on to it for dear life. The officer at secondary inspection was really nice and joked about my wedding and explained everything about the 90 day period and how I should go about the AOS. On October 3rd, I went to the Pittsburgh CIS office where I got my temp EAD, the ladies there were OH SO NICE, I couldnt believe it... SO all in all, everything has been pretty good for me.

AOS INTERVIEW: It was quite simple, the CO made a few questions about how we met, when and where, when did we get married and where. Asked about joint assets and liabilities, we provided rent lease document, joint account letters, and letters from our employers stating that we're the beneficiaries of the life insurance and 401K. However it was pretty much over the 90 days and my case hasnt still been touched.Emailed my DO and called the USCIS information line, they took my complaint and gave me a receipt number. Someone called from the Pittsburgh DO and told me that they inquired about my case and my file was going to be pulled and I should have an answer in 14 or 21 days.

Also sent emails to the Pittsburgh DO, and called the USCIS information line. I dont really know what worked... must have been a combination of it all. EAD not approved yet

Consulate Review: Caracas, Venezuela

Event Description

Embassy Review : The Venezuelan Consulate works pretty much like many others, you go in, take a number and wait til your number is called,I guess it depends on how many people are being interviewed at the immigration section of the consulate. I got there at 9 am, and I was called to the window at 10.45 am more or less. The CO was not friendly, but she wasnt too cold either. She asked for the info, made me sign my forms and told me to go and pay the 100$ fee. Take cash, they do not take checks or debit cards. They use the official exchange rate. After bringing the receipt to the CO, I was told to sit and after 10 minutes or so, I got called again. It was other CO, she was much nicer and friendlier, she took my finger prints, and told me that I was approved, she asked me a couple of questions and that once I got my visa I could move immediately to the US, did I have any questions??... Not really!!!! I was so nervous, but it really wasn't a hassle at all. The consulate doesnt require a whole lot of information.
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
