Event Description

Embassy Review : Since things have changed in Warsaw and we were the first on the new procedures. Things went not as smooth as hoped but still not to worry. I arrived 4 days before I wanted an interview so we would have little cushion. Had a hard time finding the correct post office and bank but when I did I was unaware of what info I needed and they had closed (1700) for the day. Came back next morning and paid the fees (I needed her full name and birthday with number of passport and when it was issued and expire) The man in the bank hand wrote a number on my receipt and this is the # that is needed the next day when you call the embassy to get an appointment. Oh by the way Tanya is from Belarus more problems with a Schengen.
OK, so a 1201 I called the embassy and gave them the info and requested an appointment the lady was very nice on the phone and confirmed my payment. She then gave us an appointment and sent me an email. You will need a computer and print out the email at any internet cafe. The print out must have the bar code on it or you will NOT be allowed in the embassy. The use a bar code reader to enter and will not except any other way. I asked the lady who made our appointment to stay on the line until I received her email and she did. The first two emails did not arrive and she was very nice and waited for me to give her a third email address and waited until I received it. I must say she was very nice and that part made me happy.
On the interview day we arrived at 0730 and were promptly let in, our letter and bar code was checked and we were directed to a window and gave all out paper work to them. We were told to have a seat and wait. We watched everyone go before us and were waited on next to last almost 3 hours.
We went to the window when called and Tanya introduced me the man told me to go to another room and wait. I had not heard of this before but did as was directed. We had all our paper work and about 85 pictures and over 150 Skype call and maybe 150 emails. All required paper work. Tanya was asked the same question over and over again in different ways, "which marriage agency did you use and how much was paid"?? No other questions were asked and Tanya tried more and a few times to show him our paper work and pictures. He refused and did not want to see anything just answer the question.
We did not use an agency we met online at a social media site which was free of charge. We used a lawyer and he marked that we used an agency on our paper work because we did not remember the web-site. This mistake cost us both a lot of nerves in the half hour she got grilled.
So after all the work we did getting all the pic's Skype and email together he wanted to see nothing not even the financial paper work we got approved and next day had to go over the river to the industrial side of Warsaw and get the Visa. You will be told the Visa will be ready for pick up at 1330 I recommend that you take a taxi and arrive at 1400 have the taxi wait and go in to the front desk show a copy of the passport and your out with Visa in 2 minutes.
Had our lawyer not made the mistake he did we would have had no problems with the embassy. The problems were trying to get the Schengen and paying the fee's at the proper post office.
We lived thru it and got married in Florida on the beach 18 December 2012
Good luck to all on you journey.

POE Review: Miami
Event Description
Entry Date : 2012-11-29
Embassy Review : Aircraft landed 1645, got out of immigration at 2030. Just short of 4 hours people were nice enough and no trick questions. It just so happened that day to have a plane load of Cubans arrive at the same time as Tanya so it tended to bog things down.
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
