Event Description

Embassy Review : My petition for my fiance was put into ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING for 1 YEAR 10 months and now finally we've heard from them! This is the e-mail we received:

Dear Applicant Mohammad Moiz

Your case file in the subject fiance visa case was reviewed recently, you are required to submit the following documents:

An updated medical examination report from an Embassy approved physician.
Form DS-160. The form DS-160 is filled out and submitted online only (https://ceac.state.gov/iv/). Instead of submitting a hard copy of the complete form DS-160, the applicant only has to submit a printout of the confirmation page to our office.
2 visa photos with white or off-white background (Front View).

On receiving these items, we will schedule the applicant(s) for a personal appearnace at our office to electronically sign form DS-260.

Sincerely,
Immigrant Visa Unit
Consular Section, American Embassy

Note that it says VISA photos not passport photos haha we're so excited, I think this is it! It was so strange how my petition was filed perfectly documents and timeline wise, got everything on time but we got sent to AP (for no apparent reason!). All we did was wait. We of course tried to push our case somehow, talk to anybody, send out e-mails but all in all it was just about waiting. We have to just pick up the medical examination report, we have filled DS-160 and have the visa photos. Now just to send it in tomorrow and get an interview date from American Express! Inn sha Allah, now the visa will come. Will update soon!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
