Initial NOA2 with approval received on 2011-09-19. However, petition was sent back by NVC to USCIS on 2011-10-5, and status was unknown until March of 2012 when I hired an attorney to track down the case. Re-approval issued on 2012-04-11.
in September of 2012, requested and received 3-month extension from U.S. Embassy in Tokyo on I-129 petition |

Interview was scheduled for 8:30am. Called in at 9am. Very nice officer. Interview was short and straight forward. Took about 30 minutes. First asked my wife (beneficiary) to confirm her personal information (full name, address, DOB, place of birth and phone number) on I-485 form. Then he removed the I-94 card from her passport and confirmed the date of entry. Asked for an original copy of our marriage license. Confirmed the date of our wedding. Asked us about how we met, our wedding, and supporting evidence (we brought photos - he kept all of them for the file, utility bill, car insurance, my 401k beneficiary designation and credit card bills). He then congratulated us, saying that we were approved and a letter/green card would be arriving soon. Also reminded us to file for removal of conditions three months before the 2-year conditional card expires.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
