Event Description
Review Date : January 20, 2013
Embassy Review : Well, all of you know the beginning of the story that is when you get there and make the line. While in the line, they asked us to have the interview letter in hand, so that they could give us a number. Then, they separated women and men to get inside. We got there like at 6:30am and our interview was at 6:45am. When I got inside, where they check your purse and stuff, they found out that I had a flash memory and a few 25 Dominican coins so because of that, I had to go back to the car to take the flash memory and the coins. Then, I had to get in the line again to get inside. When we got inside like 6 minutes later, they called our number which was 49 and they called us to window 16. In window 16, she asked us if we have kids and if we were marry and also she confirmed my address in the USA and phone number then, she asked us to give her the forms (DS-156K, DS-156,DS-230 PART I, DS-157, BIRTH CERTIFICATE, POLICE CERTIFICATE, BANK RECIEPT($15,$ 160), 2 2X2 PICTURES) and then she sent us to window 14 to pay the $80 dollars and to go back to her and give her the receipt. After that, we waited for 30 minutes and were call again to window 13 to do the fingerprints. Then, we waited again, but only for 15 minutes to do the interview. They called us to window 23. It was an American guy and the first thing I noticed was the green little paper behind our folder. He greeted us and asked us to swear and then started the interview. The first thing he asked my fiancé was (Spanish)
1- How did you meet?
2- When did you meet?
3- Do you have wedding plans?
He said, yes! And I said I even bought the wedding dress and I brought the receipt and he wanted to see it.

He asked me (Spanish)
1- Where do you live?
2- Who do you live with?
3- What do you do?
I’m a full time student.
4- Where?
5- How many times have you come?
And I told him I didn’t know, but I have all my passports and show them to him.
6- He asked me to show him pictures! I showed him the album I made in shutterfly and he liked it a lot. I recommend you to do something like that cause it is a really nice proof.
7- He asked us if we have kids.
He interviewed us together and he didn’t ask for the affidavit and he was very nice. Then, he finally said “YO VOY APROVAR SU VISA” “I’M GOING TO APPROVE YOUR VISA” that was awesome and we were very happy.

PS. I think when they know your relationship is real they don’t really bother you. It was less than 5 minutes that he took to ask us all the questions and approve us. I hope this help a little but anyway be prepare.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
