Comments : 1/18/14 Visa sent to wrong address (not the one we gave them but the one in the passport :/ ) DHL calls, and DH drives out to meet the delivery guy-- pays DHL fee, and receives visa!!!

P.S. I had no idea the physical exam was also a limiting factor; I thought it was always just the TB test.

As such we have only 2 months before the CR1 visa expires!!!

1/15/14 CEAC website udpates as Visa Issued

1/13/14 DHL Passport to Embassy

Dec 22, Phone call asks for passport return

Dec 21, Updated documents returned

Nov 17, informed AP was over and that is why they stuck the post it note on there. CEAC website is not updated. US Embassy in Cairo website is updated but with no date, so I don't know how long since the status changed. No phone call or email received to tell us of the status change

November 15, Emailed consulate to inquire about the post it note.

November 5 2013- trip schedule to England to meet beneficiary and family. Passport returned to us at our request via DHL (in 3days), from consulate. A post it on the note says "need TB and new police report." No further explanation.

October 2013, CEAC updates 3 times, same AP message, new dates.

CEAC updated about once a month since April 2013 with same message, different date.

Rec'd checklist 7 days after NVC reviewed initial package. Checklist items returned 2/14/13.

Interview: "Approved" pending AP
Processing
Estimates/Stats :

Consulate Review: Egypt
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : January 19, 2014
Embassy Review : 10 months of AP have gone by-- 10 long long months. Through all the hell, snide communications or lack there of communications, we have finally come to the end of our relationship with this unhelpful embassy. The person that enters the email could not be any more rude. Furthermore, the email has been backlogged and unable to receive messages for 4 days now. The website has not been updated in 2 months+ even though we now have our visa in hand.

To top off our experience, the jerks didn't look at any of our paperwork and mailed our visa, passport, and information to the wrong address-- the old address in the passport. Seriously??? Thats the best you can do Egypt Consulate? What did I pay these people to do????

Well...we have the visa. So in light of that, I'll give them a final rating of 1.
Rating : Very Poor

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
