Sorry for the late review, but catching up on our timeline. Our appointment was for Tuesday morning, august 28th. We I drove up from Rhode Island and my Fiancee flew in from Toronto to meet me. We splurged on a room at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth, with a short walk to the consulate in the AM. Our experience was much as described in previous postings (thank you) except......We arrived at about 6:25, wanting to get a good place in line. We are only ones. 6:45 - only ones (we are wondering if something is wrong. 6:50- one other guy shows up and has walked a long way. He is the only one for a while. We chat and eventually ask what is in his backpack. He freeks out when we tell him the rules. He has walked a long way and has no place to put his phone, etc.. Next to show up is an oriental family (also burdened with electronics). They are freaked as well, make quick friends with the Dominican Republic guy and head off to hide their stuff. Everything else goes "somewhat" according to plan. The rules are posted at 7:30, we are first in, back of elevator as reccomended, first off, and we log in. We are wondering why there was little line???? Probably an hour before we get our paperworked checked and another hour before we got our interview. A very nice man who made it seem as though his primary objective was to put us at ease. It was all clear when he explained that this was not a day when they normally do K-1 Visa interviews and that they were short staffed. Very apologetic....we even had some laughs. Out by 9:40. Had a nice lunch. Fiancee back to airport to toronto and me on the road with expectations of a POE aqt Peach Bride on 9/9/2012 (which we made) and a wedding date of 9/30/2012 (done as well). Thanks for all the help from this group. More to follow. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
