My husband went in for his interview yesterday. They gave him his interview date 2 weeks before the actual interview date, so it was very difficult for me to get time off from work to go with him. If you guys have the opportunity to go with your spouses, please make the effort, better safe than sorry.
They told him that I would need to come to Jamaica for an interview before they can issue him a Visa.
When he asked the immigration officer WHY?, the guy could not give him a reason. He just kept saying, "Sir, I really want to give you the Visa, but your wife needs to email us and she needs to come in so we can speak with her." He had a great amount of evidence, he was very organized, and he answered their questions correctly. They asked him:
How long we were together?
When was the last time I visited?
When we were married?
Where we were married?
How many people was at the wedding?
If he knows my parents?
If he had pictures from the wedding? (He had a picture book I made)
If he had additional pictures( He had pictures dating back to 2006)
The only thing I can think of is that they do not believe the marriage is real because there is an big age difference. We have been dating since 2006, we were married July 2011, and had all the evidence to prove it. I guess the plus side to this is I will be having a mini vacation in a few days.
My husband always have this saying, "Nothing happens before its time." It was not our time and I know God will pull us through this bump in the road.
Good luck to all of you on your visa journey.
Sam

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
