Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : December 17, 2012
Embassy Review : I went with my fiancee to the interview as I have read on the forums meeting through an aunt or relative that lives in the USA is a Red flag and you could get a hard time.

Our appointment was at 7:30 but we got there early like 6:15 we stayed at Bay view Hotel which was just across the street. No need to go early they will not let you in until close to your time but they did let us go in at 6:45 I don't think their was many of us at 7:30

We went inside and took a seat we set there for awhile our number started with a 6 but we set outside and they we just calling numbers starting with a 2 so my fiancee and I looked at the slip they gave us it just said submit DS-156 and DS-157 (2) of each and DS-156K to window 39 (the lady stapled them all together appointment letter on top before we went inside) We asked lady outside where to go she said oh your K-1 you can go inside. DS-230 (part 1) was not asked but take it in case they might add it later to the slip of paper

When we were inside we found area were they were calling numbers starting with 6 and the other side numbers with 2 it was four digit number and that number stays with you whole time.

Went to window 39 and submitted our forums that got stapled together told to take a seat and then wait for number to flash again Next number was with Filipino interview and we did not even know we were being interviewed she was so nice

She asked for her CENOMAR NSO Birth certificate and NBI Clearance then asked for affidavit of support BPI Receipt Asked if it was ok to speak to her in her language and will talk to me in a minute

She asked me how many people in my house I said 2 she said do they have jobs I said yes I said I am paying my parents rent until I got a house it wasn't an issue. She asked if I was petitioner then asked fiancee

How we meet
When we meet
When in person did she meet me she did not care about exact dates just 2012 and 2011 what she recorded but I gave exact dates
Where she lived and she forgot part of her address because she was nervous so I told her and she laughed and said see he knows

I was asked:
How many times did I visit and then if this was my second trip
How I know her aunt
Our pictures together and if I sent any money to see the receipts
Told us to take seat and give them to American if he asked for them which he never did

After that we did finger prints then interview with American. He greeted us morning and asked us:

Are you in love
How did we meet
How long I knew her aunt and where did I meet her
What she likes about me she said shes nice and he said give me more then that and she said she is a joker and he said so his sense of humor I said it makes me laugh when they get he and she mixed up and he said I am used to it and she hit me in the arm as we laughed :P
He wanted to see engagement ring but called it wedding ring and said I hope its real I said I hope so too lol
Then asked if we are having a big wedding and we both said small and he said oh you got to have a big one.
He said ok looks good your approved have seat and wait for final instructions

If you can go or are willing do it I think we were approved before American even interviews us because I seen on paperwork approved in big red letters it really helps a lot if you go some ladies where American did not attend got a hard time and one went through AP as they got engaged in 2010 and was some issues with past marriage

Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
