Embassy Review : |
My fiance's interview appointment is scheduled for May 10, 2012. To date I would not give the Embassy very high marks. They are very, very slow to process things and very slow to respond, if they ever do. It took them 1 month to confirm receipt of our packet from NVC. I know that NVC sent it electronicly to them on March 9th and it took until April 9th for them to even confirm they had it and that was after I had sent several emails to inquire about it. I received the email requesting 1 form be completed which I completed and sent back the same day. It was another week before we received our appointment date and time and again that was only because I had sent an email saying I'd not received anything. I was told oh, well we didn't get it. That's a bunch of you know what. Anyway I sent it again and received the appointment immediately after that. I had some additional questions after that and got pretty quick responses from one man there but then when I had some additonal questions and he was out of the office no one would reply to my simple questions. I had noticed on their web site that the fees for K1 Visa processing had changed so I wanted to confirm that we would infact pay the lower price and not the original amount we were told. This simple question took 2 1/2 weeks to get a reply and that was with numerous emails sent.
I also called one day to try and speak to a live body but was VERY quickly transfered to an extension that of course was not answered, so I left a voice mail and of course I never received a return call. The operator could not wait to get me off the phone and transfered.
I would say to the folks out there that are in the same boat be persistant with this Embassy. They are very, very, very slow to process anything and need to be nudged along to get things done for you. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
