Embassy Review : My husband said that is was not quite as painful as it could have been! All in all, it went well. I travelled to the UK to attend and had contacted the Embassy prior to notify them I would be at the interview. We dropped off our things at Gould's and walked back to the Embassy. We got to the Embassy about 7:30am (our appointment was scheduled for 9:00am), spent about 15 minutes where a woman from the Embassy came by to check our appointment letter, checked for me on the list (I was), and let us know that we couldn't take in electronic devices of any sort. We went through security, went to the lobby, got our number, and sat in the waiting area.

While we were there, a rather large group of BBC Orchestra members came in as they seemed to be getting visas for a trip to the states. We got called up to Window 1 after about 30 minutes and had the same Chinese lady that other reviewers have mentioned. Unfortunately, we were next to the window with all the musicians and it was very loud. The lady at Window 1 complained that it was too loud and giving her a headache, but she was very friendly and chatty with us. She went through our paperwork, said everything was in order, took my husband's fingerprints, and told us to take a seat and that we would be called shortly.

We returned to the waiting area for about 20 more minutes and were called to Window 16 where a younger American man conducted the interview. He asked us how we met, what I do for work, what Paul planned to do for work when he got to the US, if I had been married before, did we have any kids (either together or separately), how long we'd been together, why I wasn't moving to the UK instead, what our pet peeves with each other were, and asked if we had lived together and how long, and were we ready to move in with each other. It actually seemed he was asking me, the USC, more questions than he asked of my husband.

After about 5 minutes talking with him, he said he was happy to approve us and sent us up to the courier desk to make arrangements for delivery of Paul's passport. Altogether, it was a relatively efficient and quick process, albeit nerve-wracking.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
