Consulate Review: London, United Kingdom
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description

Embassy Review : My appointment was at 9am, I got to the Embassy at 8am. I couldn't take my keys in so had to store them in a local pharmacy. Outside, you need to show your passport and your MRV Fee receipt and interview letter. I was inside by about 8:30am. The first desk you see as you enter you have to show your interview letter and the lady put a sticker on mine with my ticket number. You then wait in the main waiting hall until your ticket number is called. I waited about an hour and was called to a window in the main room. I had to provide my passport, police certificate, birth certificate and support (I-134 plus any letters/tax returns). They scan your finger prints (both hands) and then I got given another document and told to sit back down and wait again. I waited maybe a further 70-90 minutes (it feels like longer!) before my number was called again. This time I was at a window down a short hallway. The lady was an American consular officer. She was professional and asked me how I met my fiance and if he had met my parents and if I had met his parents and when we planned to get married. She told me my visa had been approved. I didn't need most of the extra documents I brought with me. I had to pay for the courier service to deliver my passport and that was it. I was out just after 11am. So less than 3 hours isn't bad! And most importantly, I got my k1 visa and will be with my fiance in less than a month!!!!!
Rating : Good
