Member Reviews:

Consulate Review: Mumbai, India
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : October 25, 2012
Embassy Review : Thanks a lot! she was only asked basic question, and she was 7th in the line, and out of the embassy by 9AM.

Reached Embassy: 6:15AM
Line formation begin : 6:45, 7th was my spouse.
Entered embassy around 7:25

Not going into details as many other have mentioned the procedure on clearance. it was fairly easy and similar to airport security screening.

Window 1: (Indian Officer)
asked for Police Certificate and Medical Report. returned IRS transcripts sent with I-864 Require Translator? No Questions asked. Returned my IRS transcripts. everything else I submitted was a copy.

Window 2 (Translator and Immigration Officer) Questions asked;
Immigration Officer : brunette Lady in her 30's. seemed polite.

all three share a smile

Whats your name?
Your Husband's name?
how did you meet?
When did you get married?
how many siblings he has?
where does he live?--> Address?
what does he do?
where does he work?
do you have wedding pictures?--> Compliments on the photos and asked specifically for 'phere' Ceremony
Your Visa is Approved.

Out of the embassy: 9:00AM

my wife was nervous as most interviewee, but it seems mere formality.

Thanks for all the VJ'ers who helped in my process in direct or indirect way. hope I can in anyways return the favor, so do let me know.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
