Embassy Review : |
Lena had her interview on Tuesday, 5/15/12, at the US Embassy in Kiev. She was allowed to enter the building at 7:45 AM for her 8:30 AM interview time. She was given a number, and then presented all paperwork including financial and relationship evidence at one time. Lena then got her fingerprints taken, and paid for the visa. She had to wait another 1.5 hours for her number to be called for the interview, as there was only 1 officer processing K1 visas on that day. When she got to the window, the officer had reviewed her information previously and asked her only a few very simple questions. The total interview time was only about 2 minutes! Then the officer congratulated Lena, and gave her the pink approval slip!
As many others have said before, if you have your paperwork in order, everything goes smooth in Kiev! Total time at the embassy was 2.5 hours. In general the officers were very pleasant and professional!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
