Consulate Review: Islamabad, Pakistan

Event Description

Embassy Review : What a great and easy experience this whole process was. From the start it seemed like everything happened on time if not earlier. I filed my wife case on Aug 15 and she was approved on April 4th.

As far as the consulate interview goes, Wife told me she got to the Islamabad embassy shuttle point at 7:30am with her mother and brother. She was on the only one that took the shuttle to the embassy while the family stayed back. She said when she went inside the embassy they took her passport, medical report and took her finger prints. After that they told her to go have a seat. She said after few minutes they called her name and told her to go sit in a different room. She sat there for about an hour before they called her up to the interview booth. White Immigration officer who spoke urdu interviewed her. She said it didn't even take 5 minutes for her interview. She told me they asked her
1. Where does your husband live?
she said USA
2. When was the last time he was here?
she said june 2011
3. When did you guys get married?
she gave our wedding date.

Thats it! after that he told her congratulations you are approved and will receive your visa file in 7-10 days through american express courier service. They gave her back all the original documents and told her bye. She took some gifts I gave her and picture album of our wedding but they didn't ask for any of that. I even made her a file of copies of all the documents I have submitted till yet but they didn't ask for anything else. I don't know if me working for United States Federal Government has anything to do with but this whole process has been fast and easy for me.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
