Comments : After waiting over 3 month since my interview, I finally got an approval. Before this; I was told to send in more evidence 3 weeks after my interview, I uploaded that online on the 8th of May and kept uploading more unsolicited evidence online. Got the great news yesterday the 13th of July that my case has been approved and scheduled for the oath ceremony.

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : August 1, 2019
Embassy Review : I had my interview on the 30th of July, everything was great. I was asked about 8 basic questions about my wife, myself and our girls.

During the interview, the consular officer told me the petitioner's information on my DS260 was missing that I failed to fill it in. Not sure how it happened but it was blank except that I selected spouse as the petitioner.

Anyway, the consular officer told me -- I am going to be returning your passport back to you until you have that information updated. Do that and I will issue your visa, she said. I simply just said thank you and was about to put my passport back in my folder when she said "wait, can you access your ds260 and have that information updated as soon as you leave here?" I said yes!... She then said, give me back your passport and put your petitioner's information on the DS260 immediately after leaving here and then email us or I will return your passport back if I don't get it before leaving my office today.

I wasn't able to put in the mising information immediately because the ds260 wasn't reopened on CEAC just yet, but I emailed them to let them know that I did try. Well, about 2 hours later, my wife checked and it was opened for update. So she quickly put in the information and I emailed them back letting them know I had done it.

To the glory of God, barely 48hrs after my interview --- my visa has been issued today the 1st of August 2019. I give all the honour and glory to the most high God. It's been tough but God had our backs for 9 years of distance relationship/marriage.
Rating : Very Good

POE Review: Chicago
Event Description
Entry Date : 2019-09-11
Embassy Review : We landed at the Chicago Ohare International Airport at 7:18am, got to the Immigration line about 20 minutes later. The queue was a bit long, but it was mainly because it was just one CBP officer attending to New immigrants until one more joined in.

When it was my turn, I got called and was asked for my packet, I told them I had none, so the officer then asked for my customs declaration form that I had filled in the plane. After looking through and seeing I had no packet, he told me to follow him to another CBP area, where he gave my passport to the officers there, and then told me to wait in the waiting area along with about 6 immigrants there already before me. Less than 10 minutes later, the officer showed up from the room - called my last name, handed me back my passport along with the CBP declaration form, and said you can go. I asked him "that's it", he responded yes, you can go. I came last, I left first.

On my way to the baggage claim area, the customs declaration form was taken from me by another officer. After claiming my baggage, then onward to my connecting flight I went. That was it.

Overall, it wasn't a stressful experience for me other than waiting in the long queue.
Harassment Level : Low

Quick question my friend I'm also filing the I-130 for my spouse in Nigeria, please, did the NVC or USCIS or U.S. Embassy in Nigeria ever sent or communicated with your spouse through any mail to his/her home address or was it all emailed to him/her? because my own spouse lived at a house without an address a new site.

USCIS sent a text message(NOA1) and mailed NOA2 to me the petitioner. My husband never received any physical mail from NVC/Embassy. It was all done by E-mail.

The instructions are sent via email - we got ours via email. But I have seen where it was mailed to the beneficiary address at a much later date after they've received the email. Bottomline, look out for it in your email.
Ivie & Eguagie on 2019-08-11 said:
The email will be sent to the beneficiary and the petitioner's email account.

Congratulations to you guys. I filed back in May and have gotten the NOA1. Nebraska has had our petition for 114 days now. Just waiting and praying for the next step to happen soon. I have been to Lagos three times in less than a year and the trips are expensive. My husband and I miss each other but we know by the grace of God , good things will come soon.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
