Consulate Review: Guangzhou, China
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : August 24, 2012
Embassy Review : We had a female VO. My fiancee was one of the last few to be interviewed that day. Most of the other applicants that had this VO came out crying because they were denied and so my fiancee already had a bad impression going in. But it turns out that the VO asked the following questions:

-how did you guys meet
-where did you guys meet in person
-what car does the petitioner drive
-what does the petitioner do for work
-where does the petitioner work
-how long has the petitioner worked there
-when does petitioner get to work
-when does petitioner get off work
-where is the petitioner from
-where are the petitioner\\\\\\\'s parents from
-where do the petitioner\\\\\\\'s parents live now
-where was the petitioner born (this question was asked again later but purposely using an incorrect birth place to see if the beneficiary was lying)
-what language does the petitioner speak

Afterwards the VO declared that we are approved. She handed the passport back to my fiancee and my fiancee asked why, then the VO caught herself and took back the passport. My fiancee thought that the VO seemed a bit distracted, as if tired.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
