May have been received by consulate earlier, but received confirmation email 13th. Still not clear on what Pkt 3 is, but they told me to email the DS230 to receive an appointment date. Never received Packet 3. Finally emailed DS230 part 1 March 5th (unsigned) and mailed DS 230 (singed, mailed in Jamaica) the prior week. Packet 3 sent from Kingston Feb 23. Did not arrive in Westmoreland until 3/12/12. Found out about interview date by calling DOS. Emailed Kingston to request they send appointment letter via email and they did (3/13). |

It took us over two hours to get through customs, about 40 minutes to get through the line for non-US citizens and then over an hour and a half in the processing room. There was one agent in there who was really harassing people. Make sure you schedule flights accordingly. |

Embassy Review : |
Here\'s the initial review as pieced together from choppy conversations as Reigel waited to catch a bus. Reigel\'s appointment was at 8:30 and he was seen around 12:30 or 1. He said the wait was the worst part of the whole thing. We were pretty well-prepared for the questions they asked. I was previously married and they did ask him about why my previous marriage had failed. Fortunately we had discussed that. He said the only one that surprised him was what did I do for work before I became a teacher. We hadn\'t ever talked about that, but he told them I was in school. Close enough. I don\'t have a lot of detail on the questions they asked him just yet, but he said they were most interested in looking at our pictures and didn\'t really look at much of the other paperwork. I am significantly older than him and I was worried that they would really harass him about that, but I guess they barely talked about it.
I will add more details later when I have a clear follow up conversation.
Here are some additions:
Appointment was at 8:30. Reigel was seen around 12:30. Interview lasted for about 15-20 minutes. First thing they asked was how did we meet? Reigel said he told them the whole story in quite a bit of detail. They then asked for proof of relationship and asked specific questions about the times I had returned to visit such as and then she returned when? The only paperwork they really looked at was our pictures and my proof of travel-plane tickets, etc. They did not look at our phone records or any of the letters of support I had included. They didn't take his non-impediment or his police record. He said they looked at the police record but did not take it. He had to pay a 1050J fee at the door (I think a security fee) and then DHL was 3200J for delivery to Montego Bay. They took my tax and W-2 information, probably all associated I-134 paperwork.
I think that's it. He really said it was pretty easy. Feel free to message me with any questions.

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
