María made a great review, so I am just going to point out the things that were different for me, and will try
My interview was September 11th, so I had an appointment at the unidad angloamericana the day before at 11.
I the unidad they asked for my passport and 3 passport pictures (they have just told me one, they also asked for the document that is set to you by the embassy with the name of the two medical centers on the top.
All the medical process was the same María described.
On Tuesday (apparently Tuesday is the day for the interviews) I picked up my results (in a closed bag) and walked up Serrano. I had time enough, so took the paper they sent that they say it is needed to get into the embassy and the electronic devices in my had to let them there.
there was a line to get into the embassy, and it was hot and sunny, the rest of the people just had some papers much less that we new. When finally the segurity guard made me get in put all my things trough the x rays. Then he said that my bag was too big, I told him it was just big enough to carry everything they ask to bring, he insisted, and just let me take with me the things I needed.
Then we had to make another line in the hall. No one was there, so we had to wait for a while. The lady asked what kind of visa I was there for looked for my name for a while (what made me insanely nervous), and finally gave me a number.
In the inside it there is this crappy waiting room with many windows. You can feel you in the States, because the AC is really cold (by the end of the interview after all the waiting I was frozen).
after around 5 minutes I see my number on the electronic board and go to the window number 3. The woman talks to me in Spanish and asks for original and COPIES of

I haven't read about the copies, but finally she made them there.
she didn't make sign anything wich was really weird to me.
Then she asks for the
- The birth certificate.
- judicial records.
- 2 pictures.
- PAYMENT FROM THE BANK (I haven't seen this in many lists)
The pictures were the normal passprt size in Spain, but she said they were to small... Since there is a photo booth inside the waiting room I offered to make more, but finally she just got what I gave her.
then she asked for the
-affidavit of support.
and asked what documents I had to support it.
I had, letter from the bank, letter from the employer, 6 pay stubs, taxes from the last 3 years, stocks... She just asked for
- Letter of the employer.
- Letter from the bank.
- Last year taxes.
She says it is ok and that I will be called with the same number for the interview with the consul.
Waiting was more than half an hour. I got nervous because people was staying there more than I expected. The window where the guy is has a little glass door so for some privacy (in the rest you and anyone else can hear all that is going on).
Finally my number comes again, and I get into there. The guy is really weird looking middle age light black man. His interpersonal communication skills are not the best, and his Spanish is so poor that I barely could understand him.
I get there, say "buenas tardes" and he says something but without asking me to wait he starts matching papers with the computer info, filling and checking. He took a long time and was making weird faces like things were not matching. I was triying to keep calm but was really hard.
After a long time of weird faces he says (keep in mind that everything is what I think he was asking, I could never understand his Spanish, but didn't want to ask him to switch to English).

(I imply that is mu boyfriend)

- New york?
- Were you visiting family?
(What the hell, what family, could I visited by then in New York? Is he trying to trick me?)
- No, I was studying English.
-What kind of visa have you used to get into the states?
-tourist visas.
For all of this he barely looks at you at the eyes, so it is confusing.
He says
-Ok
And I was like, ok what?
so
- Do you mean that everything is ok and I can leave now?
- Yes
So, this is an approved visa but I got there with a really weird feeling, like something hasn't gone well... I guess it is just the poor communication.
