Event Description

Embassy Review : Hello all VJers!

As I pack my bags to prepare for POE (JFK in my case) I couldn't help to take some time and share some highlights from my K-1 journey so far.

Before I delve into details I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all you wonderful people on this forum who've enlightened me at various times on a myriad of issues/queries viz a viz K-1.

I'm 29 Male Muslim from Pakistan and got interviewed in Islamabad. My interview lasted for 5 minutes (not even). The CO was a young African American lady.

She asked me the following questions:

Who is your petitioner?

Who did you guys meet?

How long have you known her?

When did you get engaged?

Do you have pictures?

Do you give her gifts?

When is the wedding?

I answered all the above and showed our engagement album and said, "Congrats, you're approved. You will get your visa in 8 to 10 days via AMEX."

I got my visa in hand on the 10th working day.

I went in pretty apprehensive (due to my age and background) expecting administrative processing/review at best but all those fears were untrue and it's a myth that all Paki Muslim Males go through AP. I don't know if I'm just lucky but let me tell you all one thing... If you're legit, you'll be alright.

Here's wishing you all luck and blessed lives.

Thanks for reading,

S

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
