Embassy Review : |
The interview was on the 20th of November at the US embassy in Amsterdam. I arrived at the embassy with my fiance(petitioner) at 1.25pm , the interview was scheduled for 1.30pm. At exactly 1.30pm the security ask everybody with 1.30pm appointment to form a queue and people with no electronics were allowed to go in first. We were directed to counter number 5, where we met a very good and patient lady who took all our documents (Passport , birth certificate, affidavit of support(1-134), postage stamp, police clearance certificates and evidence of payment). She also took my finger print and ask us to wait for a consular officer for the actual interview. At this time I was nervous and said to my self the monment has arrived! After about 5 minutes I was called by a middle age latino man to counter number 6. He greeted me with a warm smile and that calm me down a little bit, my fiance was standing right by my side. Then the questions started:
1. what is your name
2.What is your date of birth
3.How did you meet your fiancee
4.How many time has she visited
5.When is the wedding and when is my fiance going back to US (This was directed to my fiance) and he said to me stop being nervous u're approved and you will receive your passport within 3-5 working days. I just stood there like a statue and thinking what has he just said. He didnt ask for any proof of ongoing relationship (I was a bit disssapointed because we brought tons of proof). Right now i'm waiting for my passport to be delievered. I hope this helps. Thank you visa journey, this would not have been possible without you and the wonderful members on here. We are sooo happy the 1st stage is done!! |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
