Embassy Review : |
There can be much confusion when dealing with this country, not all the instructions are clear and directions to forms are not complete. It is difficult to communicate whith the Conulate because they are only available for certain days of the week and for only certain hours. I have noticed that they change this time to time, so what I post here can change. I was only able to communicate with the Consulate Monday - Friday (except Wednesday) from 3pm till 4pm. On Wednesday they where not available at all. Sometimes when calling the line was busy and they were not able to place me on hold, due to that their hold capacity was full.
However, they were very helpful and assistant when you were able to talk with them directy in person at the embassy. Our Interview went well, we did not go into the room for seperate interviews and we were out within one hour with the visa approved and the ticket for DHL. We got the passport at DHL in two days, however there was a problem with the visa. They had put the sex of my Fiance as a Female and not Male. Fourtunaly we went to get the Visa with DHL early in the morning and after noticing the error of sex on his visa, we went directly to the Embassy. We had a airline reservations that night and were in fear that we may not be able to travel together and his stay would be delayed. They embassy told us that they would do everything possible to fix the porblem, but we would have to return a 3:00Pm to confirm that a new visa was issued. They said they could not guarntee that they would be able to resolve the issue, but would try. We returned at 3:00 pm and they said that they were doing all they could do, but there were some problems with the computer system and were working on it. That we be paticent and it could take some time. We were there for aproxamently 45 minutes and they called us to the Window and presented us with a new Visa with the correct Sex.
So we were finaly on our way....... What an emotional ride. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
