since i wasn't there physically, ill try and write all my fiancee told me out of excitement...
so she had a tough time at the security cuz she forgot to remove things like lipstick and lotion from her bag... so she got pushed to the back of the line for each item.. yep, thats my girl!..lol. she said the security check had worn her off even before getting in.. since she was pretty much the last one waiting, she got good view of people's experience... but here are a few of questions asked of her:
- how we met?
- wen was the last time i came to Nigeria?
- where do i live?
- to give a little more details of where i live?
- if i was previously married or had kids?
- my friends?
- there was a year that i didnt visit, why was that?
- my education
- if we had any engagement or introduction? (when it was and gifts exchanged)?
- tell him more about me and how she feels?
He then only checked few more of our pictures and then approved the visa (didnt ask for anything else).
My fiancee felt the guy was decent and friendly. They shared a few chuckles with some of her answers. She did feel that since we had front loaded the application right from the start, they already had documents and pictures to review and so the questions were not too harsh. She noticed when the guy picked up her file and was reviewing and writing things down even before calling her.
We were prepared both in paperwork, working on answers/body language, and dealing with our small red flags. The redflags did come up, and i'm sure you won't even notice it from the above list because she had good answers for them. Now she jokes that I preparer her very hard and that if I was a CO, I'll probably deny most people. For my defense, I was not going to take this lightly because its hard and then a setback will just be annoying. She did see some people that were denied because they couldn't answer basic questions about their fiance/relationship, or had no phone records, or weren't prepared for redflags.
I truly believe God was at work at all times. I even told her that the issue she had at the security was probably God pushing her to the back of the line so she can be interviewed by the CO she had. We also agree with those that suggest they already make up their minds even before the interview starts.
I wanted to leave this review, cuz all of your reviews helped us prepare and I hope a lot more people will come back and do the same. I am tired, but yet finding the energy to be excited! Where's my five hour energy drink.. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
