Consulate Review: Bogota, Colombia
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : October 24, 2011
Embassy Review : It was a very easy process and staff is extremely friendly. My wife left the house at 5:40 arrived at about 6:00 for her appointment a 7:00 and it was perfect timing, not too early and not too late. At about 6:15 a lady started to separate the lines and it was organized in spanish. They take any electronics, so might as well leave them at home. She had to give them a few documents and then wait...It was a rather quick process and when she was called for the interview portion, the lady was extremely friendly and made small talk. My wife was not asked for any extra evidence and was approved rather quickly...Of course I am in the military and the interviewer was in the military for over 25 years, so that must have helped alot. Happy with the results and wife was out of the embassy by 10:00 am. Only bad thing is that they don't sell minutes around there, but other than that it was easy.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
