Interview went smooth although she was there for 7 hours. (Actual face-to-face time was only about 20 minutes. Waiting, waiting, lots of waiting...) Seems like the major questions were about support and proof of support. |

There were quite a few Filipinos on the flight from Manila to Hawaii, but only 1 or 2 other K1 visa girls. Waited for about an hour, but actual time at the counter was only about 20 minutes. He went through all the documents in the folder, asked about support again, and told me that I had 90 days to get married. I asked about the EAD stamp, and he said I had to file for the EAD card at adjustement of status. :( Overall, very easy with no harassment, just a lot of waiting. Out of the airport about an hour-and-a-half after the flight landed. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Honolulu as your POE! |

Arrived 15 minutes before the appointment and waiting 30 minutes to be called back. Very nice agent. Quick and Easy. She asked me to read aloud "Who lived here first (in America before the Europeans arrived)?", then write on a piece of paper the answer "The American Indians lived here first (in America before the Europeans arrived)." She then asked 6 questions: "Who is the governor of Texas", "What is one promise you make when you become a US citizen?", "Who was the first President?", "What movement tried to end racial discrimination?", "Where is the Statue of Liberty?", and "What are two US holidays?". She asked a few more questions from the forms I submitted, then said OK Congratulations, you are approved. Woohoo! Good luck to everyone on VJ! |

Appointment was scheduled for 6:30am, so she arrived at 5:30am and had to wait outside until about 7:30am. They asked for all of the support documents and then told to wait. Lots of waiting. Actual interview only lasted about 15 minutes and he asked to see pictures and a few general questions (petitioners name, where does he work, how did you meet...). Also asked about wedding plans and where we were to live once married. Many couples there for the interview were placed on hold due to support issues (one petitioner had been unemployed for several months and the interviewer asked why he had come to Manila and how was he going to support his fiancee and children). Suggest having bank statements, tax returns, and a letter from your employer for the petitioner to show. Overall, a good process... except for the hours of waiting. She was on her way home a little after noon. |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
