Comments : Thanks to this website, we had a smooth and surprisingly fast experience (did it all ourselves -- no lawyer involved). The key is to read, read, and read again all information in the VJ guides posted here and the USCIS website, make sure you don't make any simple errors when filling out forms, and submit all supporting documents in orginal package to speed things up.

Event Description
Review Date : August 10, 2012
Embassy Review : We arrived 15 minutes before our appointment time. A few minutes after our appointed time, the officier in charge of our interview came out to explain that she was running behind schedule due to issues with other applicants ahead of us. Our interview started about 50 minutes after the appointed time, the officier was very polite and friendly, and mentioned several times again about not wanting to hold us up, since we had waited so long. The questions that we were asked seemed to be geared toward verifying the information that was written on our I-485 and I-130. There was no digging into our personal lives or asking anything that could be considered a "trick" question. We carried everything with us that I could possibly think we might need. What did prove to be useful was having additional papers showing accounts in both names (a few new things that we didn't have when we sent original package). The discussion lasted perhaps 20 minutes, at the end of which we received a paper to use as evidence that our case was approved. We were told to expect the "green card" in about 3-4 weeks.javascript:emoticon('')

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
