Consulate Review: Algiers, Algeria
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : May 18, 2012
Embassy Review : Today my fiance had his interview appointment at 1 pm Algeria time. He did not get seen until 5 pm. Once seen the agent asked him why I did not visit Algeria. We physically seen each other in Tunisia in 2011 and Turkey in 2012. Due to the civil and traditional laws in Algeria we are not married therefore we can not stay in same room. Then the agent stated that since I have been married twice with three children and I was not working when we first started talking that I was depressed and mistaken this as a relationship. The agent never allowed my fiance to show any of the documentation showing more proof of our relationship and stated he will write letter stating this is not a relationship and give to his supervisor.
Rating : Very Poor

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
