Consulate Review: Juarez, Mexico
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description

Embassy Review : Our flight from Monterrey was cancel on sun 3-18 due to bad weather in Juarez. So, we ended up flying Mon morning from Monterrey to Mexico City and then connected and ended up landing Mon afternoon in Juarez. Monday was a holiday so we just checked into the hotel and rested. Tue morning woke up at 4:30a to arrive at the medical before 6am. got there about 5:40am and they were letting people in. I went along with my fiancee as they will let you come in and wait. They did a physical exam on her and she said they make you get completely naked and make you stand with your arms out so they can look over your whole body. I guess checking for some weird condition or tatoos or something. She was out about 8:30am or so and ended up paying 210 dollars and some change. I brought 210 because that is what I read on VJ that is cost but it was a bit more then that so make sure you bring extra money. They told us to come back at 2pm for results.
Same day at 1:10pm we had the biometerics appointment. This appointment is really easy and you are out in 15min or so, but don't show up too much before your appointment because they only take you 10min early or so.
Once the biometerics was finished we headed back over to get the medical results. She had to wait for almost two hours for the results. Not sure how they hand out the results but it is not alphabetically. So she was one of the very last people called.

Thursday 7:15am Interview
woke up early showed up for the interview and they let her in at 6am. I hung around for a few minutes and then went back to the hotel as her and I had discussed because they wont let the fiance come in and wait. Took a nap and she showed up at the hotel at 8:15am and told me she passed. She said it was really easy and they didn't ask her much. But, they did ask if her fiance was there in Juarez with her and she said yes he is and they said ok well you are approved and that was it. She said a lot of people were confused about papers they were suppose to have and this and that. I had everything laid out for here and all outlined and she said that really helped her and made it easy. I just followed VJ and how you are told to have everything outlined great site this is, such a big help. Got the Visa at the DHL on Mon morning and crossed Monday afternoon at 2pm.

We stayed at the Ibis and I would highly recommend this motel for the Consulate process. Close to everything and you can walk everywhere from this location.
We walked to the mall alot and eat there or some of the small places by the motel and eat at the motel also. Would recommend doing any of those, but don't eat at the denny's very expensive.

Advice: make sure you have your appointment letter, invitation letter, and passport. Your fiance will need this at any appointment they go to.
Rating : Very Good

POE Review: El Paso
Event Description
Entry Date : 2012-03-26
Embassy Review : No issues, had a friend in Juarez that knew a taxi driver so we paid him 1500 pesos to take us acrossed. He only was charging 80 dollars or about 1000 pesos but he really helped us alot and explained the entire process so well that we wanted to tip him well. There are 3 or 4 points of entry in Juarez but go to the one that the name starts with a Z. I think that is the one that you have to go to anyway. We crossed at 2pm on a Monday and there was hardly anyone there. Paperwork took 20mins or so then we were on our way. Make sure to carry 6 dollars for the I-94, not sure if that make change.
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
