He was taken into a room for further questioning. Who is he marrying? What line of work did he do in Mexico? The lady who interviewed him told him, "Wow, you must really love this girl." |

Embassy Review : |
I want to extend my gratitude to the VJ community for all your help, advice and reviews. It was invaluable to me as my fiance and I went through this process. I will now share my review in hopes that I can be of some assistance to someone going through this same process.
I'm writing this review based on what was related to me by my fiance.
I first want to say that one thing that helped my fiance and I is that we discussed the process together and watched videos on youtube that are posted by the USCIS. The videos are in both English and Spanish and they provide helpful information on what to expect at the consulate and the medical clinic.
March 12, 2012
My fiance arrived extremely early the medical clinic, around 6:00 AM. When it finally was time for him to enter the clinic he was asked by two guards to see his needed paperwork. The night before with the help of VJ we had gathered:
-His invitation letter
-Passport
-And Appointment Confirmation
That was all he needed to gain entry. He was very pleased that we had all the correct documents because he said several people were asked to return and get other paperwork. So preparation is the key.
When he entered the clinic and went to the reception desk, they were having systems problems so he had to write down his name and passport number and took a number from the machine.
When he was finally called, he went to a laboratory was blood was drawn and he was asked A LOT of questions. He said in particular he was asked about drug use. If he had EVER taken drugs. They even asked if he had experimented or sampled a small amount. So that's very important. They also ask if you have any tattoos and what they mean if you do. He doesn't have any so I'm not sure what they ask to follow up if you do.
Next his x-ray was taken and he had a medical exam. His exam was performed by a female doctor, so I don't think the exam is gender based. Just something to keep in mind.
Following the exam, he paid ($210.00 USD) and and they took his photo.
Unfortunately due to a miscommunication he was told to wait to get vaccinations, which was about two hours. So its important to emphasize that you are getting the K-1 and vaccinations are not necessary.
He was told to come back for his results. Note: Your medical results are not needed for your CSC |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
