Consulate Review: Ankara, Turkey
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : July 20, 2012
Embassy Review : My fiance had his interview on June 5, 2012. The consular officer asked several questions. Where do I work? Tell me about her family. How long has she lived in her city. He was able to answer the questions without a problem exept how long have I lived in my city. He said 6 years and that I was born in my city and had lived in different states. I moved back to my city in 1995 from another state. We have never talked about how long I lived in every state for my entire life. I never thought it was necessary. He brought pictures, phone logs, emails, copy of the engagement receipt, hotel receipts to the interview and at the end was given a 221G for proof of relationship. Apparently emails, pictures, phone logs, and engagement receipts are not enough to proove a relationship. We sent in all of the same information plus envelopes from mail I sent to him, more pictures, about 65 more emails. The consular officer does not belive we have a real relationship and sent the the file back to USCIS for possible revocation. I emailed the Emabsssy more than once. I had to email them to find out the correct date of the interview. They sent an email saying the interview was June 5. The website said July 5. I had to email twice to get a response. I waited more than 5 days before I sent a second interview. I emailed them when my fiance did not recieve his appointment letter. No response from them. I emailed 2 weeks after we sent in a response to the 221G. No reponse to my email. I contacted my Senator to email them. Finally ! a response.
Rating : Very Poor

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
