Embassy Review : |
Interview: July 10th 2012 Tuesday 13:00 hrs. local time
My wife had an interview for CR-1 visa at US Embassy, Kathmandu. I was keep in touch with her on phone until she got into the embassy premises. Thanks NTC for really low call rate....
She was at the main gate almost half hour before the interview time but Security Personal did not allow her to get in until 1 pm. So, another unexpected phone call from my beloved wife
I had nothing on my mind beside seeing VISA will gonna approved ....still it was not official...slowly I started to feel about interview what will be the outcome...Asking some questions with my wife and how she will answer it....there was no red flag and nothing to hide...still I guess its human nature...want to do perfection upto his/her level best
She hanged the phone up with me and preceded to the gate....phone switched off....
Again, WAITING GAME...Keep checking my cell phone and hoped to Ring...Nothing comes before the time....thats the biggest learning experience on USCIS phase….
Eventually, Wait is over and phone rang…… heard the EXCITED voice of my wife on the other side of the phone....I did not have to spend any second to realize that her VISA was approved.
She told me that the interview went really short and sweet. Less than 5 minutes and CO (Lady) asked only 5 questions, most of them were in native language (Nepali)
Questions:
What is your name??
CO Confirmed with my wife that the information on DS230 is correct and then asked her (my wife) to sign in part -2.
What kind of marriage. (Love or Arranged)
When we got married?
What do I (husband) do in USA??
CO asked to see photo album (did not seem she wanted to check something, just out of curiosity as she noticed something big on my wife\'s hand). She noticed that we went POKHARA for our honeymoon, CO made a comment saying she loves POKHARA.
Then CO asked to come back on Thursday (less than 48 hrs.) to collect the Passport....
My wife questioned when is she supposed to get Original document?? I learned from VJ and briefed her to inquire if they don’t or tell anything about original documents) .CO handed the original document and say sorry as she forgot to return the documents...
Right now I am also searching for best deal on air fare. Hoping to get something for coming FRIDAY.....
note: i wish there was 4.5 on rating.....

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
