Embassy Review : we arrived at the embassy about 06:30 (our appointment was 06:45, the line was wrapped around the side of the building by then. we patiently waited to make it to the front of the line. by the time we made it thru the metal detectors and seated inside it was about 07:30. we were both pretty nervous so we stared at the monitor that displayed the numbers being called. we were number 779....our number was finally called a little after 08:30. we were called to window 19 and there was a nice lady there who collected all the required paper work. She then told us to go and pay the $210 and bring her the receipt. Once we did that, she told us to have a seat and wait for our number to be called again for fingerprinting.

Around 09:25, we were actually called by name to window 13 for fingerprints…which was pretty quick. And we were back to sitting and waiting again. Time seemed to move soooooo slow. And FINALLY (the moment of truth) we were called to window 21 (it was after 10am by now). I’m not sure if she was having a bad day….but she was AWFUL to us.

As soon as we approached the window, she asked what my fiancé does in Dominican Republic; he explained to her that he just graduated over the summer from PUCMM….her response was “yeah right”. Then she said “tell me how you two met, and give lots of details”. We were both pretty nervous, so we rushed right thru it. She asked him for my phone number and he was off my ONE number. After that she told us that we would have to come back for a “Dual Interview” the following day. We left feeling pretty sad.

The next day we showed up at the same time, and this time we were called around 07:45 to window 11 (which is not a window at all. It’s an interrogation room). They had to sit outside the door and my fiancé was called in first. He said he was asked:
1. How did you meet your fiancé?
2. When/where was the first kiss?
3. Have you ever used condoms?
4. When was the last time you used condoms?
5. When was the last time you had sexual relations?
6. Were the lights on or off?
7. Who took a bath first this morning?
8. Did your fiancée bring you a gift on this trip?
9. What did she bring you on the last trip?
10. How many times have your fiancée visit DR?
Then it was my turn and I was asked:
1. Do you speak Spanish?
2. Are you avoiding getting pregnant?
3. Have you ever used condoms?
4. When was the last time you used condoms?
5. Who took a bath first this morning?
6. Last time you had sexual relations?
7. Where the lights on or off?
8. What did you bring for your fiancé on your last trip?
9. What size shoe does he wear?

Then, they asked us to have a seat and wait. About 10:30 am, the same lady from the day before called us back to window 21 and simply said “take this to DOMEX and pay $12.50”. So we were like does that mean we are approved?? And she said YES. We hugged and kiss and said thanks!! Paid DOMEX and went out to celebrate!!!!

Now he is just waiting to receive the visa via DOMEX. (Sorry for the long review, I wanted to capture every single detail)
