Consulate Review: Manila, Philippines
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : October 28, 2006
Embassy Review : All things considered it started out ok. My fiancee arrived at the Embassy at 6:30am and was done around 2 or 3pm i think. She went thru the process and finally the interview. The consulor asked her several question, then told her everything was in order and sent her out to wait for them to call her number.

When they were ready for her they said everything looked ok and to pay the Delbros fee. But when they didn't send her the visa after a week i called them and they said they sent it to the Philippine government even tho they told my fiancee everything was ok.

I've asked several times what the problem is and they refuse to tell us, just that they are verifying my fiancee's documents. They gave us a 4-6 week time period, as of this time filing this out it has been 2 months and they still tell me to wait. We see no end in sight. I have requested for them to call the Philippines government and ask why it's taking so long and her response was "we can't call on every case, this is a normal document check we do". Of course that isn't true since everyone we know and a lot of people on VJ have been approved with no problem around the same time.

As you can guess we aren't real happy with the way it is going, If it was something that was our fault with a document why don't they just tell us and we would could try to correct it. The CS has always been a problem, they just don't care about what happens. We have done everything right and still have been put on AR and not given a reason. Not to mention over the time period.

Beware if you get a Large American female, run the other way!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
