Consulate Review: Manila, Philippines
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : November 22, 2011
Embassy Review : Arrived at the embassy around 5.30 am on my 6.30 am appointment last november 17, 2011. My fiance was with me so i felt confident although almost fainted while waiting outside the embassy coz of nervousness. hehe.

there are 3 lines outside the embassy. from the left K1 and immigrant visa,2nd is for tourists and 3rd is for seafarers.

when the line started to move, guards assist the applicants and when you reach the tent, assistants there ask for the DS forms, appointment letter, passport, BC, Cenomar and NBI. asked if i submitted pictures in st. lukes, since i did, she did not ask picture from me anymore. put a sticker on my passport, told me to go to window (i forgot the number).
went inside the embassy and guards checks again for the things you have. they took my fiance's lighter. hehehe

after reaching the window, the lady gave me a queuing number (6035)and told me to drop the papers in another window (i forgot the number lol)then waiting time started.

after around 5 minutes, my number flashed and i went to another window. the lady asked for my name and birthday, my petitioner's name and birthday and then told me to put my four fingers except for the thumb in the finger scanner. left then right. then 2 thumbs together. then told me to sit and wait for my number to be flashed again. after few minutes, number flashed and im for my pre-interview. the filipino guy asked for my name, birthday, petitioner's name and bday, and if i have pics. told him i have. he asked for my place i live and when i said libmanan, he said he knows the place coz he worked in national irrigation before. it was just like talking to friend, he is nice and friendly. told me to sit again and wait for my number to flashed.

after a minute, the pre-interviewer paged my name to go back to his window. he asked for my BPI receipt coz he said he forgot to ask for it. gave it to him and back to my sit.

after few minutes more, time for the consul interview. the american lady is bubbly and easy to talk to. asked first to swear to tell the truth then asked if im good in english, then i asked my fiance if he thinks im good in english which made the consul laugh. he said it is an advantage having the petitioner being present in the interview. she asked for my name, bday, my fiance's name and bday. she asked if i know i should marry him within 90 days of my entrance in the US. I said yes mam. she asked if my fiance has kids and if he was married. i said, as far as i know he doesnt have kids and he has never been married. the consul just laugh. she asked my fiance when he will be going back to the US. my fiance answered in 2 or 3 weeks or until the visa thing is done. then the consul said, you are approved. then look at my fiance and told him, guess you wont wait that long. then we all laugh. she said go and sit and wait for the number to flash again.

another window for the delivery of the passport then out of the embassy at 9.30 am with our smile on our faces.Thank God.

concern today, until now we havent received my visa yet.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
