We never had to do an interview. We did have trouble with the Green Card the first time it was sent out. They sent it back as undeliverable but we got it in the mail today. |

I arived way too early 6:40 am because I just didn't want to be late as it was really important to us. When I got there there was one other person already waiting off to the side, I stood their for a while then decided I'm already here so everything will be fine so I decided to get a coffe and a sandwich from a really nice cafe, just down the road, it was good but a little exspensive, but it made me fell a lot better  I rejoined the cue which was now about 10 people in front of me once I had had my refreshments then a few people joined the cue behind me but not many, then at about 7:30 they started checking for your intrveiw letter and passport and letting people in, they had 2 passport and interveiw letter check points. I went through the airport style security check and round the side of the building and into the US visa entery. the lady then checked my interview letter and passport and attached a bunch of stickers to it on the sticker was my "ticket number" so I sat down and waited to be called up. around 8:30 I was called up to an interview window where I was confronted by a women with a strong oriental accent who was still chewing on her breakfast, she seemed to get upset when I needed to ask her to repeat things because I could not undestand her thou, then she went thou my paperwork and asked me for my documents one at a time. She took my finger and thumb prints from both hands and on an electronic scaning pad, and moaned at me for not pre-paying for my visa on the cust service number. although I had read that I was to pay for it at the Embasy. when she was done she sent me round the corner of the hall to the cashier to pay for my visa and gave me strict instuctions to return the payment recipt to her, which I did then sat down for another hour. I was then recalled to another window around the corner near to the cashiers one where I was srown to tell the truth and had my finger prints taken again by a pleasent but emotionless guy unless you said something that plased him. He asked me basic stuff like if she works and stuff like that if I liked my job I think he just susing me out, i told them it's not great but it keeps the money coming in, that's the important thing, he liked that answer a lot. He got me to write down her name, I'm guess to prove I could do so, so I asked if he wanted me to wirte diown her middle name as well he said sure and seemed happy that I could do that too. he then went on to say what I had to do next, go up to the window with the pink sheet I had been asked to fill in from the first window whilst I waited and pay for delivery of my visa which will be in my passport when it is delivered! I was thinking to myself that means I got it, my visa but he didn't say as much so I asked him wich he didn't seem to impressed about but answered. He then went on to say that in the parcel would be 2 things, my passport with my visa and a large envelope, I am not to open the enveolpe or tamper with it, just hand it in to the imagration officer at POE, I was also given a copy of my medical results on disk to take with me too. If the envolpe is opened or tampered with you will be returned to the UK, the packet is to be hand carried and not packed in your laugage. I was then told we were done and I went to the big long desk right at the front of the hall where I paid for the delivery of my visa and told that I would need to provid proff of id when it was delivered! They had my passport and I do not have a drivers licence but they accpet bankcards and some utility bills as proff of ID. They asked me if I had been to 2 windows, to make sure I had already gone through the process.
I then left and found the nearest Phone box as I had left my mobile at home as you are not allowed any electroninc deviseces into the building including keyfobs. I got onto the second nearest phone box because the first one didn't work and then called my fiance to tell her the good news at about 10:30 am, only 2 and a half hours after my appointment time or 3 hours after I got into the hall, the cue outside the window never seemed to get long whilst I was at the embasy either. one point of not though is the" I " ticket numbers are called up aALOT slower then the rest and I had an " I " number
