Port of Entry Review
Event Date
Port of Entry : Blaine
POE Date : 2005-01-25 Submit Review
Got EAD Stamp : No
Biometrics Taken : No
Harassment Level : 5
Comments : I drove across the US border at Blaine, WA. At the time, they were doing car inspections and harassing just about everyone driving through the PoE. I was visiting friends and staying about a month, so the PoE guard looked at my university student card and passport. The US crossing never stamps Canadian passports for driving through, and I didn\\\\\\\'t receive an I-94. I wasn\\\\\\\'t intending to immigrate, thus I didn\\\\\\\'t file anything in advance -- no EAD, no biometrics, etc.

Comments : We applied for an AOS after getting married in the US. I came down on a tourist visa without intentions to get married, but after a car accident, our priorities changed. Therefore, we were a straight AOS with our I-130 filed concurrently.

Our interview experience in Chicago was pretty much a breeze; we waited for almost two hours and the interview in its entirety took maybe 10-15 minutes at the most. Our agent (#5/Lacey) was very polite, clearly spoken and friendly but professional. We were asked several simple questions about personal data, five or six questions from the Yes/No page of the AOS, how we met and finally how I liked Chicago. At the end of it, he said we were approved, did not take my EAD or AP, and didn't stamp my passport.

* When was the Constitution written?
* When must all men register for the Selective Service?
* Name a state that borders Canada.
* What is the ocean on the east coast of the US?

Detroit does not do same day oath ceremonies.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
