Comments : Received RFE July 3rd. It had a due date to return additional evidence by September 25th. We mailed it back on August 29th. Main hurdle was refinancing my home to add her to the mortgage. BofA told me it takes 90 days to add her name without doing a refi. Did a refi instead with Quicken loan as they shoot for under 6 weeks. Not easy when her US credit rating is under 3 years old. Quicken loan did it fast.

Note: The status on the USCIS website said "Pending" and never changed until Sept 23rd when it said new green cards had been ordered. I was very worried that they lost the RFE I sent in because they don't tell you that they received it. Meanwhile they ask you to wait 60 days after submitting the RFE before they can look into weather it is missing or not. Which sucks because those 60 days put you past the deadline to return the RFE resulting in a denied case. Anyways, it took exactly 3 weeks from the day they received my RFE package to the day my status was updated on the USCIS website.

Consulate Review: Ukraine

Event Description

Embassy Review : This is some of what my fiance said about the interview. It was scheduled for 9:30AM.

I came to the embassy at 9:00. The security guard told me to wait until 9:25. Near the embassy is a convent and a church and I went there. I arrived back at 9:25 and went inside. Besides me was still a man and a boy with his girlfriend. I had gone to the embassy and walked to the window where they take the documents. Then I went to paid for a visa. At 10:00 I went to the waiting room. At 11:00, I passed a fingerprint. My interview was at 12:15, I was the last one. It was very cold. And I froze while waiting for more than 2 hours. The consul was a nice young man. He read me the oath in Ukrainian and said yes. I always smiled and he smiled too.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
