Consulate Review: Bangkok, Thailand
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : January 4, 2012
Embassy Review : My wife had her interview on Dec 21st. I sent her many possible questions that I found here in the forums to help her prepare. But I told her the most important thing was to tell the truth, smile, and look the interviewer in the eye. My theory is they are looking to see if you are telling the truth, and the answers should match whatever papers, forms, email, chat logs you have submitted in the process.

I read many forum posts about the woman officer at window #5 and how she gives a hard interview. My wife of course got window #5. I didn't warn her about that, I didn't want her to be worried. She was # 6 to go to the window, even though she had a 7am appointment. The five women before her were ALL denied. Ouch!

She made the officer laugh which might have helped her cause. The woman was reading some emails of ours, and asked my wife is she really eats bugs. My wife said "yes, don't you?". The woman laughed, said "yes, sometimes" and told her to come back in 4 days to pick up the Visa. Woohoo! The journey was long and painful, and lonely for us since I was in the US, but we are finally back togther again!
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
