Embassy Review : |
we just came back from the interview. we got the visa!!! BUT, we were pretty much put thru the wringer. our apptment was for 6am. we stayed at the jardines del teatro which is half a block from the embassy. when we walked in already after security, at around 6:50 and maybe 5 or 10 minutes passed before they called my fiance to give in all the forms. we were then sent to pay at caja 12. it didnt open till 7:45am. we then sat don and shortly were called to do fingerprints at window 13. after that we waited another 30 mins until we were called to window 18 for the interview. there was a white guy with a trimmed beard(non dominican)....not very friendly. he asked me how long we have been together and then said "did you know that in july he applied for a tourist visa? i said yes, i wanted him to come to the united states for several weeks to see what it was like and if he would be able to live here. he tried to make me think that my fiance has a gf, cause he had a kid with her 5 years ago. then was accusing him of being a sanky. he raised his voice and said to my fiance in spanish "u better tell me the truth, otherwise i will deny you right now." he didnt ask for a piece of evidence, no photos, no bills. i was standing there pretty much defending him, because the interviewer was talking to me in english. he was very nasty. i said "we talk between three and 10 times a day, i can show u my phone bills. i was here in DR 10 times in a 12 month period. i met his entire family, his mom, brothers, sisters, i go to his house for days, he doesnt have anyone else...my sister and my friends met him, he isn't hiding anything". then he says to me "go outside into the waiting area". he stayed with my fiance on his own for about 5 minutes. then he calls me in and says to my fiance, go back into the waiting room. he says to me "i am not getting what i want out of him" i said "this is how he is, you ask him a question, he gives you a straight answer. he isn't going to stand here and give you a story. with him, what you see is what you get. that's how he is". he asked me a few questions (same thing that he already asked my fiance: whats my best friend's name, whats my sisters name, how we met, what is his cousin's name. then he says ok go call him back here. when my fiance came back, the interviewer says, ok your visa is approved, go pay domex. i, almost with tears in my eyes and him nervous as hell, said thank you and left. we couldn't believe it. my fiance told me that when i was in the waiting area, the interviewer also asked him where worked, where i lived, name and age of my sister, my mom's name, name of my best friend, when was the first time we had sex, where, with or without condom...we came back to the hotel at 9:30, drained....i dont know what to give as a rating, it was fairly quick, the food was okay, my fiance bought us sandiches and coffee, not sure how much it was. but the whole experience with the interviewer.....hell!

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
