Embassy Review : |
Arrived at the embassy this morning at 7.10 am. There was already a queue of about 10 people ahead of me. By 7.40 am the queue was so long! We were also asked to form separate lines for 8am, 8.30 am and immigrant visas. I was second in line for immigrant visas. They checked my passport and my interview letter only.
Went through security (much like airport security) at 8am. Received my number I902 and was immediately called to a window. The nice lady only asked for my passport, photos and interview letter. Fingers printed and informed me i need to pa for courier service after my interview.
Just before 9am i was called to another window for my interview. She just asked me where i met my husband, as i met him on an online rpg she also asked me when we first met. What he did for a living, what i did for a living. Then she asked me where he was born and she actually answered for me! Since she lived there too. I did mention to her i was probably supposed to answer that but she just laughed and said its one of those mornings.
She then said those magical words, told me i was approved and that i have to enter the US by august 2nd. Also reminded me i had to pay or the courier service.
Everyone there was pleasant, the security guards and the employees inside. I had a very good experience and i do wonder why i worried so much.
I would like to add it was a bit odd that no one looked at my ds260 or any of the documents they requested in the interview letter. I was also handed back all the originals i sent to them. Im guessing thats the reason why they never asked for the documents i took with me since i already sent them originals. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
