Embassy Review : |
We arrived at the embassy around 5:45am, around 6am line started moving to go inside. They gave us our number 546, then around 7am got called to turned in the required documents for K1: DS230, DS156, 156K, 157, Birth certificate, police report, cedula, Passport, Banco Popular receipt, Medical exam results, 2passport pics, the guy at the window asked us if we were ever married to each other or other people, asked him to sign some forms, then told us to go pay $210.00 dollars at window 12, then returned to same window to give him the receipt ten told us to wait to be called again an this was our longest wait, around 1Hr to get his fingerprints, then that was done and we only had to wait about 15minutes an we got called to window 24 for the interview by this young girl, she was pleasant and even told me she has the same shirt I was wearing..She asked us if we are married and why we didn't get married in DR, we told her that we preferred to get married in NYC, then she asked me the date we met, and the dates I came to visit him after meeting him, I guess she saw that I was going every 2-3 months, she asked to see my passport to verify the dates, then she asked him to go sit outside and she asked me the following questions:
Where do I live
With whom
Apartment or house
How many bedrooms
Where do you work
What's the name of your employer
Whats your position
Did I graduate from school
Is he working
What did you bring him as a gift on this trip
What did you bring him for his birthday
What did he give you for your birthday
Does he have siblings, what are their names
Do you have siblings, what are their names
Which month are we gonna get married
Do we want any kids
Have we chosen any names for our children (Odd question!.. Lol)
She wrote down all my answers and called him over and asked him the same questions and marked all the ones he answered correctly and the ones he answered differently she would asked him again kinda like giving him the option to think over the answered, he only failed 2 questions at that point my Fiancée was really nervous, his hands were shaking and he was sweating and told the interviewer that he was really nervous, she said: "Don't worry about it, that's normal"..lol
After reviewing the questions she said, "Ok, su visa fue aprovado, Go pay Domex" he felt relieved and got a little teary eyes!..lol
Side note: she didn't ask to see any pictures, proof of relationship, affidavit, nada! But still take it cause I did see other people getting interviewed and they asked to see pics so go well prepared! |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
