POE Review: Washington DC
Event Description
Entry Date : 2009-01-12
Embassy Review : Immigration line was very long. Waited nearly 2 hours. When I got to the front of the line, the guy was very nice. He opened my sealed envelope, stamped all my paperwork and sent me on my way. I didn't realize there was another part yet to come. When I arrived at the next station, I was sent to one of three rooms. I then waited an additional hour. When I finally got to the desk, the foreign man (irony) was quite abrupt, but not quite rude. Basically stamped something and sent me away. By this time, I'd missed my connection.

Many of the others waiting in that room spoke little to no English, which was complicating matters further because the officers insisted that everyone speak English to answer the questions.
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
