Consulate Review: Barbados
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : February 22, 2021
Embassy Review : My husband’s appointment was at 7:30 AM but he arrived at the embassy at 6 AM 🤦🏾‍♀️ Lol. He said that a few minutes past 7:30, the security officer instructed those who had an appointment for 7:30 to enter the embassy. He said it was a really simple process. He was only asked to show a few documents (police certificate, marriage certificate). He said the interview itself was fairly short and probably took about 5 mins. She asked him seven questions:

How many people were at your wedding and who were they?
Where was your wedding?
What did you do after your wedding?
What does your wife do for work?
How long has your wife been in the USA?
Who lives with her?
Where did you meet ?

After he answered the questions, the consular officer told him he was approved and gave him instructions to return his passport. Overall, it was a fairly simple process and a lot easier than I thought it would be.
Rating : Very Good

Congratulations. How were you able to get an interview date with the Barbados lockdown? Mine was cancelled in January, and I have been patiently waiting for a date

Thanks! We were honestly just lucky that our appointment was Jan 29th and not during that period when appointments were canceled. Did you try sending an email ?

Yes, I have sent emails and made multiple phone calls. Thank you for the swift response

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
