Have transfered from TX to PA and just recently moved to NJ. Had status "Ready to be scheduled for interview" at Philly field office before Covid-19 hit. Moved from PA to NJ in September and notified USCIS. September 16th received "Interview Canceled" so I assume I'm currently being transferred to NJ field office.
My extension letter expired and I had to go to the Philly field office to get an i-94 with i-551 stamp. Was able to transfer my Real ID from PA to NJ using this, however it took some explaining to them that the form was equivalent to a permanent resident card since it had photo ID and expiration date on it. In PA they had no issues with it at the DMV but at NJ I had to push and explain several times and they were like "oh it verified" ... duh I told you it would. ;)
06/24/21 Update - today I had my interview in Newark, NJ. I went alone as I had let them know I switched to divorce waiver. I arrived at 7:15 am for my 7:30 appointment - checked in in the window and waited about 45 minutes to be called by a female uscis officer. She was very polite - asked me a few questions about the relationship how we met, when we got married, why it ended. She said everything looked fine and that if she needed anything I would get a letter in the mail. 15 minutes after I left I received an email saying card was being produced. I'm so relieved to finally have this part over with. Was supposed to take 2 years but turned into 4 and a constant worry about having the right documentation to update driver's license and or other documentation! At this point not sure I'll even apply for citizenship (eligible in December of this year, 2021) just cause I'm so tired of dealing with the immigration process. |

Dallas was really a breeze and everyone was polite and helpful  I didn't understand the signs for which lane to go in so I asked the people standing directing people and they were like "oh! K1! Welcome!" and then they opened a lane for me where I immediately got to show my documents to a border officer, he took my documents and passport escorted me to "the office" a small room just a few feet away where some people were already sitting, waiting. A lot of them were Mexicans and I heard from conversations that some of them had waited a long time, and I started worrying about how long it would take. The officer gave my documents to the ppl in the office and told me to sit and wait. It was only about 15-20 minutes before my last name was called and I was given back my passport and could move on to go get my suitcases. (Which were already waiting for me). I arrived around 6:30-7.00 PM so I imagine the wait time will be depending on arrival time and how busy it is at the time, but the entry itself is nothing to worry about. They did not ask me a single question! |
