Member Reviews:

Consulate Review: Mumbai, India
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : May 24, 2015
Embassy Review : Interviews for K-1 showed available dates once a week at the end of the week. Ours was April 30th given May 1st was a Holiday, set for 9:00am.

Biometrics went smoothly previous day (9:30am apt) and done within hour if I recall.

Interview day, got there at 7:45a for the 9a. Guard said to wait a while. 8:15 checked again, and they let me stay in line. At some point, they asked K-1 in.

Had docs checked by an Indian.
Waited about 40m with token and was seen by consular.
Had some very basic questions: fiance's name, where did you meet, asked about engagement pictures, one or two other basic questions and said congrats! you'll get your visa on the passport in 2-3 days.

No status change til following Wed,
Was in Administrative Processing for 2 days
Finally said Issued and then when delivered to HYD "Ready for Pickup"
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
