Comments : Got I-551 extension stamp on 2017-09-25. No red flags in our case; interview likely triggered due to N-400 filing (as Chicago does not do combo interviews). Case approved nine days after interview. Card may have arrived before 2018-01-07; we were away on a trip.

Bio. Appt. : 2017-08-02
Interview Date : 2018-12-17
Approved : Yes
Oath Ceremony : 2019-02-15
Comments : Applied online. Went for interview in Chicago as scheduled (Nov 2, 2017). Were told that the N-400 could not be processed at this time because the I-751 is still pending. Were not give the option of a same-day combo interview that we have seen other couples report.
(3/5/18 update): We had the I-751 interview back on 12/12/17; ROC was subsequently approved by the end of that month, but there has been no progress on N-400 since then.
(12/18/18 update): We've moved to the St. Louis field area. Interview took place yesterday. Everything was positive, but because the system had not been updated to show that ROC had been cleared a year ago (Dec 2017!), the officer could not approve on the spot. Jan 28, 2019: Approved. Feb 5: Oath ceremony scheduled.

Embassy Review : The interview itself was short & sweet; the officer had made up his mind beforehand. Didn't want to see any additional evidence. Had to sit and wait a while to be called in, but other than that it was very easy.
Harassment Level : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
